2014 BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG CLUB OF AMERICA  NATIONAL SPECIALTY SHOW

The Bernese Mountain Dog National Specialty was held in early April near the southern Virginia beaches. Faith, Nora & Eule & I  supported Castle, an up-and-coming AlpenSchatz puppy living in VA and Loui, father to many of our puppies. We watched the lively Top 20 Conformation Competition, attended Berner University classes, socialized with new and old friends and worked with Mary Dawn De Briae in the AlpenSchatz Boutique, now in its 13th year of continuous Specialty attendance. The girls donated blood and cheek swab samples for medical research, which is why they are wearing blinking heart buttons in the above photo.

Castle, 9 mos old, owned by Karen Thumb, earned ribbons in THREE! events at the BMD national specialty against strong competition - Regular conformation - 4th, Sweepstakes - 3rd and Futurity Breeder's Showcase- 1st!

striker's new title!

Striker (AKC Champion Biers Hole In One V AlpenSchatz, BN, CD, RE, CGC) finished the highest level of the AKC's Rally Obedience Program, "Rally Excellent" at the Watchung BMD Club's regional specialty, October 5th. Congratulations to mom, JoAnn and Striker for his new title at 5 years old!

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY, cArlos!

Carlos is the son of Liebenhund's Pass The Beer Nuts (Norman) and Alpens Anakin v Liebenhund (Annie). Annie, Carlos' mom, was our first Berner to celebrate her 10th birthday.
